Having just purchased a Kindle for my college son, my answer is YES! The revolution has already begun. Amazon announced over Christmas that they had their ebooks outsold their print books for the first time ever. My son is an avid reader and he loves his new media source. As soon as he finishes one, he downloads another. And because he is a little forgetful, he only has one object to keep up with this way. The simplicity and cost-effectiveness of the system will make this a public demand within five years, I predict. Universities are beginning to examine it because the students want it.

I don't necessarily think so. For starters, staring at any computer screen, no matter how thin won't mimic the experience of reading an actual book. It has to do with the human senses... we just like staring at paper =) -Julia of Colon Cleanser Zone
