HP today announced sponsorship of Project RED, a national research and advocacy plan to increase student achievement through the effective deployment of technology.
HP will support Project RED’s initiative to provide school leaders across the United States with tools and resources to support their technology implementations. Membership in the Project RED learning community is complimentary, and educators can sign up via the organization’s website: www.projectred.org.
HP’s sponsorship of Project RED builds on the company’s announcement earlier this year of the HP Institute
, an academic program designed to address the worldwide IT skills gap by helping students obtain the technology skills and expertise they need to succeed in the workplace.
The HP Institute provides secondary, higher education and technical schools with a complete learning solution for students, including courseware, practice tests and labs. Students in the HP Institute benefit from hands-on training and access to modern equipment found in the workplace, along with industry-recognized certifications that can help improve their career and learning potential.
The HP Institute provides a curriculum for the new HP Accredited Technical Associate (ATA) certifications across four key areas: Connected Devices (PC, Printing), Networks, Servers and Storage, and Cloud Solutions. HP ATA certification delivers the industry's first architect-level certification designed from the ground up for delivery in an academic format.
HP also showcased the following products designed for the education market:
· HP Compaq Pro 4300 Small Form Factor PC, which provides necessary performance in a space-saving design to run educational applications
· HP ProBook s-Series, for students who need a full-feature notebook at an affordable price
· HP t410 All-in-One Smart Zero Client, which enhances student learning while helping to reduce schools’ overall management and maintenance costs · HP Z220 Workstations
with high-performance features that offer students access to engineering and media applications
