The National Wildlife Federation and Earth Networks, the owner of WeatherBug and operator of weather observing and lightning detection networks, are partnering to enhance STEM education, promote environmental literacy, and increase awareness of sustainability and “green” issues through a series of education and outreach programs aimed at educators, K-12 students, families and the general public.
 
The organizations will share and integrate weather, climate and environmental content in NWF’s Eco-Schools USA and Earth Networks’ WeatherBug Schools Programs, which are used in thousands of K-12 classrooms nationwide. In addition, both organizations will promote public awareness campaigns about nature and conservation. The popular WeatherBug web, mobile web and mobile apps will soon include additional content on the outdoors and wildlife, while NWF’s apps and website will incorporate weather data and information.
