Looking for resources about biodiversity?  Check out this free web site from ePals.com: http://www.epals.com/projects/info.aspx?divid=biodiversity_home.

The Biodiversity Focus Area on ePals.com provides an online environment for educators and students to share user-generated content in a purposeful and meaningful way.

-- Access free tips, tools and lessons to help students understand biodiversity.

-- Take a virtual field trip to New Zealand to learn about their native plants and animals. Ask questions of the New Zealand class who submitted the video.

-- Submit your own virtual field trip by creating a video with your students highlighting animals and plants in your community to share with students around the world.

-- Learn about endangered species like the leatherback turtle, and more.

In addition, check out eFilms at ePals http://www.epals.com/blogs/efilms/default.aspx  to watch documentaries on biodiversity and other topics by professional film makers.  Each video has thought-provoking questions that can serve as in-class discussions or homework after watching the video.  Students also can review the videos, submit comments online and rate the films for their peers to see.
