A new report from CDW-G finds that information technology (IT) professionals’ and end users’ attitudes about cloud computing at work are shaped positively by their personal use of consumer cloud services, and in turn, cloud computing adoption is accelerating in schools across the country.

According to CDW-G’s 2013 State of the Cloud Report:

  • 76% of IT professionals in K-12 schools acknowledged that their use of cloud at home has influenced their recommendations at work about moving to the cloud
  • 56% of IT professionals believe school employees’ personal use of cloud applications or mobile devices is making their school move faster to the cloud
  • 42% of K-12 schools are implementing or maintaining cloud computing, up from 27% in 2011
  • Storage, conferencing and collaboration, and office and productivity suites are the top applications moving to the cloud in K-12
