Computer-Using Educators (CUE) Inc. honored 14 outstanding Ed Tech professionals during its annual conference in Palm Springs, March 14-16, 2013.

The 2013 award recipients are as follows: 
 
GOLD DISK 
Recipients who receive this honor are recognized for their contributions to CUE and to technology in education.

Pam Korporaal | Former Director of Technology, Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District

Joyce Miller | Teacher Specialist, Instructional Technology, Pomona Unified School District

Charles Merritt | Principal, El Carmelo Elementary School, Palo Alto Unified School District

Cheryl Davis | Acalanes Union High School District Curriculum and Instruction Technology Specialist

Christine Olmstead | Administrator, Office of Academic Content, Orange County Dept. of Education

OUTSTANDING EMERGING TEACHER 
Recognizes a classroom teacher who in the first seven years of his or her teaching career has already made a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting.

Megan Ellis | 7th and 8th grade teacher, Jordan Middle School, Palo Alto, California
 
OUTSTANDING TEACHER 
Recognizes a classroom teacher who has made a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting.

Jennifer Ratchel | Educator, 2nd through 6th grades, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Eissler Elementary, Bakersfield City School District

SITE LEADER OF THE YEAR 
Recognizes a school site principal or assistant principal (or equivalent) who has made a noteworthy contribution to promoting educational technology within his or her school. 

Clifford Smith | Principal, Oak Hill and Juniper Elementary Schools, Escondido Union School District

MAKING IT HAPPEN   
The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation and is coordinated by the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE).

LEROY FINKEL FELLOWSHIP 
The purpose of the Leroy Finkel Fellowship is to promote leadership in the field of educational technology.

Kate Petty | Secondary English Teacher and ELD Coordinator, Trabuco Hills High, Saddleback Valley USD

Four of CUE’s 2013 award winners will be submitted for consideration to ISTE. CUE’s winners for Emerging Teacher, Outstanding Teacher, Legislative Advocacy and Technology in Learning Leadership are in the running for ISTE’s awards in similar categories. ISTE will announce its winners at its annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, June 23-26, 2013.
