The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston today announces the latest release of Peanuts & Crackerjacks, an online learning tool that promotes economic education in the form of a fun animated game. Players explore the market for professional team sports – how leagues gained market power, why tickets cost so much, why athletes earn as much as they do, and why there is so much economic conflict in professional team sports.

Peanuts & Crackerjacks joins other online learning materials created by the Boston Fed to advance economic understandin. The content provides students and adults with fun ways to learn about economics in the classroom or at home. All Boston Fed online learning tools are available at http://www.bostonfed.org/education/online/index.htm.
