Expected Outcomes

May 27, 2005

Tip:
When you write a grant proposal, consider the goal. If the focus is writing as part of community projects, then consider the culminating products students will create to demonstrate their understanding of the topic being studied. Some products you might be considering include:

  • Brochures or pamphlets
  • Posters or flyers
  • Story writing
  • Newsletters
  • Presentations
  • Videos
  • Public Service Announcements

For each product, consider the writing process or strategy used to teach writing. Justify how this project and the product students will create will meet the standards and encourage writing.

Example

Fourth-grade students will interview senior citizens and write a newspaper relating experiences about the person they interviewed. (California LA Fourth-grade standard 4.2.2)
