A recent study conducted by the University of Washington’s Center for Information & Society examined the after-school technology programming in 38 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country and reflected the positive impact the organization’s Club Tech program has on building 21st century skills among youth. According to the study:

•    The access kids get outside of school is an important complement to the learning that happens in the classrooms.
•    Members not only learn the fundamentals of computers, but they also learn how to harness technology in a way that makes them more literate in current affairs and other topics.
•    Young people often found success in doing their homework at Clubs in a helpful, collaborative, supporting environment that many could not get at home.
