Bytes and Books Inauguration Ball: Live Reporting

The nation’s leaders in technology and education gathered to celebrate the inauguration of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and the new Congress at the Bytes and Books Inaugural Ball on January 20, 2009 at the Folger Shakespeare Library. The black-tie gala was sponsored by the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET), and attendees included members of Congress, administration officials, education leaders, corporate leaders, media, education stakeholders and dignitaries.

T&L managing editor Christine Weiser asked the community building award winners (George Lucas, Barbara Stein (NEA), Bill Thomas (Southern Regional Education Board), and Linda Darling-Hammond (Stanford University)) what they would like to see from the new administration regarding its commitment to ed tech.
