E-learning program offers software, hardware purchase incentives

SkillsTutor, a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), today announced new cost-effective options to purchase its comprehensive student improvement programs. Customers can now choose significant reduction in product pricing or new hardware solutions for students.
 
The initial phase of this program was first announced at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference in June, in coordination with Intel and Equus Computer Systems, Inc.

“Our customers are looking for a total solution that includes content, assessment, professional development, and a device to deliver the program,” said Adam Hall, President of SkillsTutor. “As a company, SkillsTutor understands that education companies must provide products and services to meet these demands.”
 
Mount Diablo Unified School District in Concord, California is one such district that has taken advantage of this new offering, receiving 40 new Apple iPads for its students through this initiative.

“We currently use SkillsTutor as a test preparation tool for seven of our schools, and continue to be extremely pleased,” said Ali Medina, Mount Diablo Unified School District. “Our students and administrators have been selected to pilot iPads in our district, so to receive 40 extra devices with our SkillsTutor subscription has been very helpful from a cost perspective.”

SkillsTutor is a device-agnostic platform, supporting the most common mobile operating systems, which include iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. SkillsTutor programs are aligned to Common Core State Standards.
