Through a new initiative called myWorld TakingITGlobal for Educators (myWorld TIGed), from the education and technology company, Pearson, and the global education network, TakingITGlobal (TIG), educators have access to digitally driven content that promotes global collaboration. The myWorld TIGed project provides a free online community along with a collection of resources for schools implementing Pearson’s middle grades social studies curriculums, myWorldGeography and myWorldHistory.

“Globally-minded educators want to empower their students to think and act as world citizens, so they are prepared to compete in our knowledge-based economy. myWorld TakingITGlobal for Educators provides a quick, easy, and secure opportunity for this kind of connectivity that encourages awareness of different cultures and peoples,” said Pearson’s Senior Vice President Lynda Cloud.

For teachers, the myWorld TIGed platform offers an online learning community, and educational interactive games, blogs, maps, image galleries, discussion boards, internet safety resources, teacher training tutorials, and case studies of best practices. Teachers can monitor student postings and share student work with parents, school administrators, and other myWorld TIGed
