Revive Your PD Plan Over the Holidays

December 20, 2010 07:00

The holidays are a great time for educators to rest, relax and rejuvenate. You’ve been busy, so take time to reflect on the past year and  prepare for the new year ahead. The holiday break is also an opportunity to get caught up on what’s going on around you. Jump online and try one of these to activate your PD plan:

  • Write a blog post, or start a blog if you don’t have one
  • Watch a few archived webinars and see how you can implement lessons learned in your classroom
  • Nurture your Twitter account, follow more people and read some hashtags to gain knowledge
  • Research to find other educators interested in the same topics as you to build your Personal Learning Network (PLN)
All of these things are quick ways to spend a little time over the holidays on your professional development plan. Take a step back and think about all you’ve accomplished over the past year and start preparing your goals for next year. If there are any goals you didn’t meet, think about how you can better achieve those results by revisiting the same goal for next year.
