Students from California's Pioneer Elementary School have taken virtual journeys to Siberia and Tunisia this year while helping to raise money for global causes along the way.
        
In March, two explorers - Ray Zahab and Kevin Vallely of impossible2Possible - trekked across Lake Baikal, one of the world's largest bodies of fresh water for The Siberian Express For Water. The journey was completed in 13 days and 16 hours and the explorers shared their adventures with and received motivation from thousands of students from schools across Canada and the United States, including Pioneer Elementary through the use of Elluminate, a software provider of online learning and collaboration tools.

In the second stage of the i2P World Expedition Series, the impossible2Possible adventurers tackled searing Sahara desert heat in an eight-day run across Tunisia.

Through the impossible2Possible experiential learning program, students have raised nearly $18,000 for two clean water projects in Africa. Future global expeditions to raise awareness and funds for critical social challenges are in the works.
