Survey: Teach kids to protect their hearing

In advance of Better Hearing and Speech Month, Califone International, Inc. recently conducted a survey on the role of technology to prevent students' hearing loss. Of the respondents, 84 percent either "strongly agreed" or "somewhat agreed" that technology should be available to help younger students understand the adverse effects of loud volume levels and protect them against prolonged hearing loss. The poll was held for a three-month period ending April 8.

A supporter of ASHA's Listen To Your Buds  campaign - an initiative developed to educate adults on how to teach children about the safe use of audio technology - Califone, has designed a number of products with student safety in mind.
