Can your technology vision and plan take a summer vacation?
School's out for summer!(in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway). While my tech crew was busy collecting laptops from students and teachers during the last few days of school, making sure that the to do list was pretty short before they left for summer, and putting the technology into sleep mode for a few weeks, I was gearing up for next year.
My thinking has moved on! I am thinking of sharing comic creators with my foreign read world language teachers during a summer workshop. I'll leave you with the list at the end of this article. If you want students to create dialogue what better way than in a short comic strip. I bet they will create more than one.
I am loving a new Web 2.0 tool, http://www.spresent.com/. I learned about it last week, and now I am making my own online presentations using the on the fly, browser based tool. I get to make a presentation, embed it into a wiki, email it to others and it is basically painless! These are the tools our students will be using, so try this one out.
I am listening to new podcasts. My favorite and most inspiring is the Podcasting Principal. Here is Melinda's blog, and her podcasts reside at Podomatic, you will love them like I do.
That's all folks, after all it is summer in the northern hemisphere!
Over and out!
Engaging ways to gets kids dialoguing.
