Studying to be a teacher, new options here!

I had a chance to talk and share with a preservice teacher today. For those of our international readers a preservice teacher is one who is still taking courses and hasn't been full-time in a classroom. An intern, a student teacher. Hm, what do I share in a short time? Enough to engage, not too much to overwhelm, and then off she goes, leaving me an email address to continue a conversation.

Do I have all the building blocks she will need? Can I build a page somewhere to start/continue the conversation and share enough virtually to give her an edge when she goes into her internship in the classroom and to search for a job? I thought about this and decided to see if we can collectively make a preservice virtual, online portal for independent learning.

So, my purpose:
This site is designed with the purpose of introducing specific webtools necessary to provide a window into a classroom or learning project. A wiki and my facebook will be the source of delivery.

My portal:
Wetpaint will provide an optimal portal (wiki) for instruction , sharing, learning and collaboration of many other tools.

First step for today.
Read this article I have posted on my facebook and put a comment on my wall. That's it. Next blog post will introduce the wiki and the second task.

Leave me a message at twitter cheryloakes50 .

Thanks to Dan for pushing me to begin using my expose windows on Leopard. He started me out using 4. I am moving onto using 8 windows today, Dan.
