Site of the Day

Name: Sci4kids Contents Page

What's at the Site:
This site is produced by the Agricultural Research Service with an Introduction athttp://www.ars.usda.gov/is/kids/sci4kids.htm. The Contents Page is the place for students to get lots of information about agriculture and its research presented in an interesting way. There's a lot of science and invention here that will appeal to kids.

How to use the site:
Students going to the Sci4Kids contents page get a list of article choices that are inviting. Examples are Bugs for Breakfast, Attack of the Witches'-Broom!, No one wants to wear this yellow jacket, and Off With Their Heads (about fire ants). There's more and it's not all insects. Students will find information on what they eat and how it affects them, examples include Pop Quiz on soda research, and Drink Your Beans. This site is a must for elementary, middle school science, or health teachers. Students who need a reading push will be sparked to read here. Students can e-mail the scientists, researchers, and authors, and can visit additional links on the article pages.
