Name:
Searingtown Virtual Library
Brief Description of the Site:
This website is used as a gateway to the Internet for Searingtown School students, faculty, and parents. Other educators will find the resources especially useful in the classroom for research projects and webquests. A great example of what library websites can do, the Searingtown Virtual Library also offers opportunities for sharing book opinions, searching the Internet with kid-safe search engines and information about favorite authors.
How to use the site:
A library media specialist could use this site for instruction, especially about the research process. Everyone could use it as a home for WebQuests, as a place to begin searching the web, and for professional development.
