Grant: 2008 Early Reading First
Award: Choice of one of Pearson’s early learning products.
Description: The overall purpose of the Early Reading First
Program is to prepare young children to enter kindergarten with the
necessary language, cognitive and early reading skills to prevent
reading difficulties and ensure school success.


Contest: Brainy Flix SAT Vocab Contest
Award: $600 Cash Prize
Description: Through this nationwide contests, students compete to create funny and unique videos that teach SAT vocabulary. Creator of the video that receives the highest number of votes receives a $600 cash prize, $400 of which goes to the student's class or school club of his/her choice. Students who make many videos receive free iTunes downloads (1 for every 5 videos submitted or referrals, for the first 1000 videos only).
Deadline: The contest begins January 1, 2009 and ends February 23.
