Learning Disabilities
By T&L Editors
LD Online
A comprehensive resource for teachers, parents, and kids, this site continues to set the mark for information about students with learning disabilities. Extensive links take you to information about assistive technologies, teacher resources and tips, and leading support organizations. A KidZone offers kids a place to share stories and artwork.
Seeing Disabilities from a Different Perspective
This kid-focused site tells the stories of famous and not-so-famous people with disabilities. Kids can read first-person accounts or interviews from one of the four disABILITY areas: blindness, autism, cerebral palsy, and deafness. Additionally, book recommendations and suggested simulation activities move toward the goal of teaching kids what it's like to live with a disability.
Awesome Library-Special Education
High-quality resources for special education instructors live up to the site's name. Topically arranged links cover disabilities from ADD to visual and hearing impairment, and include online multimedia materials and research papers. Plus, vendor links for subject-specific books, software, and learning devices will help teachers and parents make savvy purchases for their kids.
