A Guide for the Guides

By Susan McLester, Editor in Chief

Welcome to our annual Guide for School Technology Leaders. In this special issue, we bring you a compendium of practical tips, expert advice, models of success, critical perspectives, and much more from tech-savvy administrators and industry gurus. We also zero in on funding opportunities with our annual Grants Directory and advice on how to write proposals. You may note that woven throughout all of the articles-from grant pointers to an analysis of the latest education bill-are thoughtful comments on the nature of leadership, a consideration that, after all, seems impossible to separate from even the most practical of topics.

We are also happy to feature on this month's cover exemplary leader Dr. Timothy Jenney, whose adventures testing the status quo in Virginia Beach are good reminders of the level of dedication meaningful reform often requires.

Whether you'll be teaching summer school, getting up to speed on some new technology or curriculum area, or just kicking back at the beach, we wish you all a great summer. But don't be strangers. Continue to visit us at techLEARNING.com, where you'll find new content from educators each month.
