General Description
Performs a variety of instructional activities in the computer lab in conjunction with the classroom teacher. Delivers instruction when required. Maintains hardware and software programs.

Typical Activities
1. Turn on and prepare computers for daily operation and instruction.
2. Turn off and secure computers and lab at end of day.
3. Prepare and develop instructional materials.
4. Prepare and deliver directed lessons and monitor students during follow-up activities.
5. Work with large and small groups to reinforce skills and concepts.
6. Maintain records and files.

Desirable Skills
1. Knowledge of operation of Macintosh computers and systems, including integration of laser disc, video camera, quicktake camera, overhead projector, CD-ROM, and scanner.
2. Knowledge of software programs such as Claris Works, Writing Center, KidPix, KidWorks 2, Hyperstudio, Scholastic Superprint, and Kids Typing.
3. Knowledge and operation of Internet programs as applicable to classroom instruction program and research projects.
4. Knowledge of strategies to integrate technology with basic classroom curriculum.
5. Knowledge of techniques to create multimedia projects.
6. Keyboarding and word-processing skills.

Experience
One year in paid or volunteer position working with elementary age children in kindergarten through fifth grade and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and teachers.

Job Duration
Weekdays, September 3 through June 23, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
