My PLN Supports @StElizabethHigh

I am always amazed by the willingness of educators to share their expertise on Twitter when others are looking for advice. Here is another example from yesterday when I was working with staff at St. Elizabeth's High School in Wilmington, DE.

  1. Any advice for @StElizabethHigh teachers who are getting ready to integrate iPads in their classrooms? #ipaded #ettipad #1to1techat
  2. @patrickmlarkin @StElizabethHigh you can let them know an Ursuline grad is very impressed... Hope they have fun!
  3. @patrickmlarkin @stelizabethhigh make iPad a choice for some activities-some students will still prefer paper and pencil for some activities
  4. @patrickmlarkin @stelizabethhigh Stick to creativity apps, vid making, educreations, captions, comic creators, storyboarders, puppets.. .
  5. @AmicaKristy @patrickmlarkin @stelizabethhigh My advice too :) I've been running a 1:1 iPad program in my classroom for the past 2 years :)
  6. @patrickmlarkin Remind @StElizabethHigh that it is not about the tool but about the tasks they are asking students to use them for.
  7. @brophycat @patrickmlarkin Find tools that work across the curriculum. Don't feel like u have to know every app under the sun (1/2)
  8. @brophycat @patrickmlarkin instead find 6-7 tools u know really well then overtime grow ur repertoire w students. Good luck! (2/2)
  9. @patrickmlarkin @StElizabethHigh Make sure patents and stakeholders understand the coolness and the potential issues. :-)
  10. @patrickmlarkin @stelizabethhigh Do not force specifics- apps, timelines, etc. Give lots of choice to do what works best to enhance lrng.
  11. Mt“@patrickmlarkin: why iPad: battery life, ease of management by Ss, wealth of education apps, huge comm of users #1to1techat@Midprincwi
  12. @patrickmlarkin @StElizabethHigh Have a list of 2-3 apps to integrate immediately. Rules/expectations covered first day, and away you go!
  13. @patrickmlarkin Thanks for visiting St. E's and check out Sophia.org, an instructional tool for flipping classrooms
