Teachers interested in 3D learning are invited to check out the new, free, open source project called Edusim, a slimmed-down version of the core Open Cobalt Metaverse Project. The project's goal is to provide an example platform and initial resources for demonstrating lesson-driven 3D cirtual environments in the classroom or for training purposes. Edusim is a 3D multi-user virtual world platform and authoring toolkit; it's intended to be used on interactive whiteboards but can also be used on student laptops or desktop computers. The platform is extendable, allowing multiple classrooms to connect their whiteboards for collaborative learning sessions.
