Wikipedia defines a time line as a graphic design showing when events took place over time; it is a long bar labeled with dates and (usually) events at the points when they happened. Here are some tools educators can use to create timelines:

2 TIME RIME An excellent site for education, which allows users to create multimedia timelines.

3 xTIMELINE Share wonderfullooking timelines with audio, video, and pictures. User-friendly, too.

4 TIMEGLIDER Great site that lets users create not only multimedia timelines but legends as well. There is a “plus upgrade” specifically for education in the works.

5 DIPITY Create beautiful timelines that can add video and pictures.

6 TIME TOAST A timeline that includes text and pictures.

7 PRECEDEN A fun, easy site to use to create interactive timelines.

8 TIMELINR A simple-to-use timeline generator that displays only text.

9 OUR TIMELINES Create timelines by using preexisting forms (text only).
