Edgenuity Highlights Online and Blended Learning in Michigan

  • Berrien Springs Public Schools of Berrien Springs, MI is utilizing both online and blended learning for full-time high school students as well as for home schooled and alternative education students. This partnership offers advanced curriculum, which would otherwise be unavailable for students, in order to prepare students for college and career. It also focuses on adding flexibility for students who are behind in credits. The district maintains high academic success on the ACT compared with other schools in the state.
  • Dearborn Public Schools in Dearborn, MI is bolstering graduation rates across its various high schools, working in conjunction with Edgenuity. At Dearborn Magnet High School, Dearborn’s alternative high school, students who have experienced difficulties at their home high school can pursue coursework in a small, blended learning setting, using online classes to work at their own pace and receive one-on-one support from teachers. Since implementing Edgenuity and a blended learning format, Dearborn has seen four-year graduation rates at their alternative high school rise from 27% to nearly 67%, with 80% of students graduating in five years.
