itslearning, inc. (www.itslearning.net) today announced that it has partnered with Forsyth County Schools (FCS) in a five-year co-development project.
Today’s current student information, assessment and learning management systems often become silos of data, creating a real challenge for educators. Forsyth’s instructional framework, Engage Me P.L.E.A.S.E, replaces this paradigm with a fully integrated system including standards-based learner plans for every student. In addition, FCS and itslearning will co-develop an online Community of Practice (CoP), a personal learning network, designed to facilitate professional learning for teachers and leaders
“It was absolutely essential to find a partner that could recognize our contribution to the project,” said Forsyth CIO, Bailey Mitchell. “itslearning’s commitment to innovation and deep understanding of the pedagogy behind the technology made choosing a partner for this project an easy task,” Mitchell added. .
The U.S. Department of Education selected Forsyth County Schools as one of 49 grantees for a 2010 Investing in Innovation Fund (i3) grant. FCS is completing the project in partnership with itslearning and the University of Georgia. Forsyth County Schools is the only recipient in Georgia, and one of twelve public school districts in the nation to be awarded the grant.
