High School social studies teacher Richard Byrne founded the Free Technology for Teachers Website (www.freetech4teachers.com), which provides educators with ideas and instruction for using free, Web-based, resources to improve student engagement and learning. The blog and learning resources site, founded in 2007, has grown to more than 50,000 unique visitors a month. Byrne, who teaches in a rural Maine district, believes that technology integration in the classroom is key to students learning and creating collaboratively with their immediate peers and their peers around the world, according to an interview with the SimpleTechIntegration Website.
