Dallas Symphony Orchestra Kids: Games

10/18/2012 12:00:00 AM
Although geared to elementary students, the information presented in these games from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra would be a good review for any music student. The Time Machine tests knowledge about musical time periods and the composers who composed in them. There is information about the individual time periods, biographies of each composer, and an audio snippet of one of his works. Beethoven’s Baseball pits your chosen team of composers against Beethoven, the pitcher. See if you can answer the questions thrown to you so your team members can get on base and score runs. Match music notations in the Music Match game. Try the three levels of difficulty and challenge a friend to see who can make matches in least number of moves. When you are finished, explore the rest of the site to see what is offered.
