Alliance Announces Two New Stem Programs

Participants from the The Junior Academy and 1000 Girls 1000 Futures. The Global STEM Alliance of the New York Academy of Sciences (http://globalstemalliance.org/), which includes more than 100 partners in 50 countries, including government agencies, corporations, and educational institutions, kicked off two new programs this fall: The Junior Academy and 1000 Girls 1000 Futures.

The Junior Academy offers support and a virtual platform for students to collaborate with STEM professionals and peers around the world as they tackle innovation challenges such as wearable tech and food loss.

1000 Girls 1000 Futures pairs high-school girls with female STEM professionals for a year of intensive one-on-one mentorship, as well as skill-building in the areas of leadership, communications, and college readiness, and access to a global peer group of like-minded young women.
