Common Sense Media: The Power of Words

12/4/2012 12:00:00 AM
Here’s a mini-lesson that will help your students understand the power of words when encountering them on the internet. Cyberbullying needs to be addressed before students reach middle school. This lesson helps students understand how words can hurt and how they can take action as a response to cyberbullying. Included are teaching plans and the lesson materials available to download. Using the internet and social media is a fact of life for kids even as young as those addressed in this lesson, grades 3-5, and this lesson helps them learn how to be responsible cyber citizens.
