Dragonfly TV: Double Dutch

11/2/2012 12:00:00 AM
This video from PBS Kids explores what's important in jumping Double Dutch. Read a brief history of jumping Double Dutch and find out about the special moves used in competition. The three teenagers who moderate the video explain their investigation into which is more important in jump rope performance—seeing the ropes or hearing the beat. They do a great job providing evidence and coming up with a conclusion. In addition to the experimentation with Double Dutch, there are suggestions for other investigations of the rope itself, and exploring a different kind of jump, the broad jump.
