Newton’s Apple: Hearing

11/14/2012 12:00:00 AM
Learn about the physiology of your ear and how loud noises can affect the different parts of it. You’ll find that earplugs are your friends when you go to concerts and turning down that iPod might mean that you won’t have to read the captions on TV when you are in your fifties. The vocabulary section gives definitions pertinent to an understanding of hearing and hearing problems. An activity asks you to identify the location of sounds and what is making that sound while blindfolded. Under the Try This section, you can find ideas for further experimentation and research.
