Based on the book One Hen: How One Small Loan Made a Big Difference by Kate Smith Milway, this site teaches children about microfinance, global awareness, and the importance of giving back to the community. Find out how microfinance works, particularly in the third world. to help people become entrepreneurs and better their lives. Click on the Kids section to read stories of real people who have received loans and put them to good use. Watch a video about microfinance. There are games to play, and finally suggestions of how to make a difference in the community. For educators there are free resources that go along with the book for elementary school students.
