Someone at School Has a Weapon. What Should I Do?

Sadly, this discussion is a necessity at every school. This site is aimed towards middle- and high school students, but could be adapted for conversation with younger students. Rational, methodical steps are suggested for dealing with a situation that might involve a weapon, and gives practical advice to the student who observes or hears about the possibility of a weapon at school. The article also addresses warning signs of violence that may or may not involve a weapon and why these concerns should be taken seriously. A link to an adjunct article discusses whether students should worry about violence at school.
