Sons of the American Revolution: The Price They Paid

7/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tomorrow is Independence Day, the glorious Fourth of July.  People love a great story and a celebration of heroics, so it is not surprising that information about the signers of the Declaration of Independence and their respective fates has become the subject of myth. The first part of this website gives, by now, folkloric information about the signers. After reading that information, please read the additional information from a professor at Susquehanna University who refutes or refines the hyperbole and backs up with scholarly information the true fates of these men. There is no question that they were heroic, but there is need to base those heroics in facts.
