VFW: Women at War: From the Revolutionary War to the Present

3/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
March is Women’s History Month. Here’s a lengthy article from VFW Magazine celebrating the women who have served our country from its inception, primarily in medical capacities at first, but with expanded roles as time went on. It is significant to read about how women, who only recently were permitted to officially be in combat roles, have been in combat situations in all of the wars the United States has fought. The site is full of pictures, short biographies, and primary source material. Find an extensive resource list for further reading.
