What’s the Problem? Amazing Chase

10/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
Use this video from Teacher’s Domain to encourage your students to stop and think about contingencies before they settle on a final answer. Sometimes the most obvious is not the correct one. This video is a parody of the television show, “Amazing Race,” but you don’t need to know much about the show (or anything about it) to appreciate the need to think a little deeper to keep from making common math mistakes. Follow the contestants to see how they solve their given problems, and talk about what mistakes they make and why they make them.
