Wild Wolves

1/16/2014 2:00:00 PM
The re-introduction of wolves in central Idaho and the Yellowstone area began in 1995. Learn about the behavior, diet, and habitat of wolves to use in a discussion of the pros and cons of wolf relocation. The video is not available but a transcript of the program can be found here. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/transcripts/2415wolves.html. Find some ideas to use before the class accesses the transcript and use the classroom activities to explore the political and social issues of wolf re-introduction. Ranchers have many reservations, and conservationists want to see wolves back in their natural realm. Students can find out what they know about dogs and wolves by going to the interactive section and taking a quiz.
