Barbara Bray
Professional Development QuickTips Coordinator
Barbara Bray, President of Computer Strategies, LLC since 1991 and the
division My eCoach (www.my-ecoach.com)
since 2000, writes a regular
column on professional development for the OnCUE Journal, moderates an
active listserv (techstaffdevelop@yahoogroups.com),
and coordinates the
PDQs, Professional Development Quick Tips on Techlearning.com. She has
taught at local universities and presented locally, nationally and
internationally. Barbara is an active member of California Computer
Using Educators (CUE) and was awarded the CUE Gold Disk in 1998 for her
many contributions to the advancement of technology and education.
Barbara's main focus is customized, relevant professional development
and has developed a national coaching and mentoring model that works for
schools and universities on-site and online. Barbara with a wonderful My
eCoach team supports and coordinates a team of eCoaches around the
country who then provide local support for their teachers at their
schools and districts.
Susan Brooks-Young

School Site of the Week/Month Coordinator
Prior to embarking on a career as an author and consultant, Susan
Brooks-Young gained more than 23 years experience as a K-8 teacher, site
administrator, and technology specialist at a county office of
education. She has published articles, columns, and reviews in a variety
of education journals during the last 17 years, and has written two
books: Making Technology Standards Work for You: A Guide for School
Administrators (ISTE, 2002), and 101 Best Web Sites for Principals
(ISTE, 2003). Her third book, The Electronic Briefcase: Templates and
Tools for Administrators will be released in fall 2003.
Neme Alperstein
Site of the Day Coordinator
Neme Alperstein has been a NYC teacher for over 16 years teaching gifted and
talented fifth grade students. Her awards and recognitions include NYC
Teacher of the Year 2000, a New Visions for Public Schools Power Tech Grant
extending through 2004, numerous Thinkquest Junior, Thinkquest USA and
Thinkquest NYC awards, NASA Student Involvement Program awards (first place
in the middle school category from the Goddard Space and Flight Center for
both 2001 and 2002), Teacher of the Year 2002-2003 from WNET-Thirteen's
National Teacher Training Institute (public broadcasting), and the
Innovative
Teacher of the Year 2003 (3rd Place) from the Bertelsmann Foundation, among
others. Most recently she is involved in a Global Friendship Through Space
Education initiative and attended Global Friendship's first Youth Summit at
Space Camp Turkey in July 2003. She is currently working to develop an
international collaborative program with NASA involving Global Friendship
and
Space Camp Turkey.
Neme has received her Bachelors degree from the State University of New
York at Binghamton (Harpur College) in French language and literature and
American political science. She has a Masters in Education (in math and
computer education) from the City University of New York at Queens College.
Neme's husband, Louis, is a biologist by training but a techie at heart, and
her two grown children continue to be a source of pride and inspiration.
Wesley Fryer
The IT Guy Coordinator
Wesley Fryer is the Director of Distance Learning for the College of
Education at Texas Tech University. He provides technology integration
training for K-16 educators nationwide, as well as training for school
administrators interested in more effectively leading teachers to
transparently integrate technology use within their classrooms.
