Kwanzaa is celebrated between the day after Christmas and New Year’s Day. This terrific site from Scholastic explains what Kwanzaa is and how it is celebrated. There is a lengthy description of the candles used as symbols for the holiday. The colors of the candles have specific meanings and represent the seven principles of Kwanzaa.
