Fighting for Democracy

11/9/2012 By:

Sunday, Nov. 11, is Veterans’ Day. This site offers a way to celebrate the many contributions and sacrifices minorities and women made to the United States’ efforts in World War II. Read about seven men and women who represent the millions who both fought in the war and worked on the home front despite the prejudices against them. Of particular interest is the Post-War section that gives specific information about the legacies of these seven ordinary people and how they helped make the United States a more democratic society. Honor men and women veterans of all ethnicities and celebrate their service this Veterans’ Day.
