NASA Satellite “Sees” Carbon Dioxide

April is Math Awareness Month and the theme for 2013 is the Mathematics of Sustainability.  The role of carbon dioxide in global warming is universally accepted and this site from NASA allows students to see the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Based on the information on the map, students are given several problems to solve to determine parts per million and the effect of the ppm on different areas of the globe.
