Paganism: Summer Solstice

6/19/2012 By:

June 20th is the first day of summer. Of course, it is an astronomical occurrence, but it is also a day of spiritual importance to many religious groups. This BBC offering explains why the summer solstice is so important to pagans. Visit Stonehenge, a place frequented at the beginning of summer by pagans and non-pagans alike, by viewing the short video that shows its links to rituals about the sun and astronomy. Also included is a brief radio clip about another stone circle at Turton Heights in Great Britain.
