ReadWriteThink: Draw a Math Story-- From the Concrete to the Symbolic

7/25/2012 By:

Plans for four cross-curricular lessons that ask students to write simple addition and subtraction stories are presented in this ReadWriteThink site. A list of books that can be used as models is provided. In addition to objectives and standards, this instructional plan contains links to PDF handouts and sites used in the lessons as well as assessment and reflection activities. Instructions are given for making a staple-less book that could be used for this lesson as well as many others.
