4/16/2014 By:

Tomorrow is National Haiku Day, an important day occurring within National Poetry Month. Write some haikus today so you will be ready. This document from the fabulous site, Writing Fix, gives just a brief explanation of the basic rules for writing haikus for your students to follow. Some examples are given from the internet as well as some student samples. Elsewhere on the Writing Fix site are additional lessons for writing and using haikus to make riddles, comparing and contrasting, and for summarizing content material.
