See.Touch.Learn. Selected as SIIA Innovation Incubator ParticipantSTAMFORD, Conn. (April 18, 2013) – Brain Parade®, a developer of learning solutions for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, has been chosen as one of ten Innovation Incubator participants by the Education Division of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). The product of note is its iPad app, See.Touch.Learn.®, a visual learning and assessment system that improves social interaction and communication skills of students with special needs. The ten participants will present at the upcoming Ed Tech Industry Summit (ETIS), May 5-7, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
See.Touch.Learn., combines the effectiveness of picture cards with the power and interactivity of the iPad to create an effective visual learning and assessment tool. The app provides educators, therapists and parents with the ability to create highly personalized lessons through stunning, custom photography and audio prompts – replacing the need for bulky, outdated flash cards commonly used by special education teachers and therapists. The new “Community” feature allows its more than 330,000 users to share and download lessons, creating a virtually unlimited, collaborative library of content.
“To be selected by SIIA for its Innovation Incubator Program is a true honor,” said Brain Parade President Jim McClafferty. “We have been so pleased with the success of children using the See.Touch.Learn. system. The lessons offer a new generation of tools that merge engaging technology with beautiful photography, resulting in a more effective approach to learning for children with special needs – whether in the classroom or at home.”
SIIA’s Innovation Incubator Program began in 2006 and supports entrepreneurs in their development of innovative learning technologies. During the event, awards will be presented to the Most Innovative and Most Likely to Succeed based on votes from conference attendees. The Educator’s Choice Award will be based on votes of Educators and Administrators from across the country.
