PLEx Science offers STEM-focused, game-based curriculum for middle school students

MADISON, Wis. (Feb. 6, 2014) – Filament Games, developer of digital teaching games, announces the debut of its first integrated suite of game-based middle school science curriculum. PLEx (Play, Learn, Experiment) Life Science includes four games offering comprehensive gameplay mechanics that meet Next Generation Science Standards.

PLEx Life Science games include Reach for the Sun, Crazy Plant Shop, Fossil Forensics and Cell Command. The games are bundled with innovative curriculum materials and practical classroom management tools to make implementation easy.

“The PLEx Life Science suite is designed to spark curiosity in the sciences for middle school students,” said Dan White, Filament Games Executive Producer. “PLEx is the next step in the evolution of game-based learning, delivering quality inquiry learning in delicious game format."

The Filament Games team created the PLEx Science games using the Universal Design for Learning Framework. The games contain visual, textual and aural representations of key information, and are intended for use in inclusive science classrooms that have a diverse range of students.
