CatchOn Joins Google for Education Partner Program

DALLAS (August 28, 2017) – With seemingly endless apps and services being used in classrooms, district administrators benefit when ed tech vendors join forces to simplify the evaluation of actual usage. That’s why CatchOn – an administrative tool for collecting real-time insight on ed tech usage, has joined the Google for Education’s Partner Program.

“We partnered with Google because we want to make it as easy as possible for school districts using Chromebook to access the insights that helps make the most out of their education technology,” said Jena Draper, CEO of CatchOn. “The process of deploying CatchOn with Chromebooks is extremely simple and transparent, so it doesn’t interrupt teaching. By joining the Google for Education Partner Program, CatchOn will offer a streamlined experience for district administrators using both of our services.”

Wichita Falls ISD is one district that’s already reaping the benefits of using Chromebooks and CatchOn. Compatibility is a big reason the district is transitioning to Chromebooks, according to Chief Technology Officer Shad McGaha, and administrators are relying on CatchOn to have insight into which apps and services are being used on the devices in its schools and classrooms.

“Before CatchOn, it was virtually impossible for us to know with certainty which services and subscriptions were actually being used across the district,” McGaha said. “As we bring more Chromebooks into our schools, understanding usage with CatchOn will be an important part of how we plan our technology initiatives.”

About CatchOn

CatchOn is an administrative tool that provides district leaders with real-time evidence about app use, implementation fidelity, cost and ROI. The tool is the only one of its kind, collecting up-to-the-minute data on every device type and all app, software and website activity, allowing districts to see 100 percent of activity on 100 percent of devices at their schools including iOS, Mac, Windows and Chrome. Using evidence from CatchOn, district leaders can measure edtech initiatives, prescribe professional development and optimize their budget for licensed and non-licensed digital learning tools.
